THE MOMENT a mighty 220 pound jaguar took down a crocodile has been captured by an astonished passerby. Thrilling action shots by local Luiz Claudio show the Brazillian jaguar drinking at the water’s edge before slinking stealthily across and attacking the smaller predator and seemingly dragging it off to eat. The jaguar is largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush apex predator and certainly proved it on this occasion. The powerful big cat wrestled with the juvenile croc in the water before taking control and biting the back of the crocodile’s head until it delivered the fatal blow.

La épica batalla tuvo lugar en un tenebroso río de Brasil, donde el jaguar se abalanzó sobre su presa para después llevárselo.

Las increíbles imágenes de acción fueron captadas por Luiz Claudio que muestran al jaguar hambriento dominando completamente al cocodrilo en el agua.

El peligroso jaguar, acechaba a su presa mientras tomaba un poco de agua. Acto seguido, se lanzó sobre él y le mordió la parte posterior de la cabeza.

Después de la batalla, el felino poderoso presumiblemente sacó al cocodrilo del agua y se lo llevó.
